Visual Poetry in Poetry Magazine!

Poetry Magazine—the first journal I ever subscribed to, the first journal I ever loved—published a spread of my poetry comics this month. Seeing my work on their site, which I've visited countless times, is completely surreal. Seeing it printed in the same volume as Jorie Graham? Just about turned me into an exploding salmon.

The pieces Poetry published are from a series called "In the Circus," which I'm hoping will become a book-length project. Hours and hours of labor and love were poured into their creation, and I'm so grateful to Don Share, Lindsay Garbutt, Holly Amos, and Fred Sasaki for believing in them. This is truly a dream come true, which you can tell by the fact that I made a kaleidoscopic selfie out of my picture holding it.
