Today marks the one-year anniversary of Billie Swift taking the reigns at Open Books, and we've been celebrating all week with readings, cake, gratitude poems, and—obviously—books! Endless gratitude to all who have supported and continue to support this beautiful store. It couldn't survive without you.
Bread Loaf 2017!
Last year, as a waiter-scholar at Bread Loaf, I met some of my now-favorite people and writers on the planet, and it was these life-changing relationships that prodded me to return this year, despite some anxiety and misgivings (See this terrific "Report from the Field" written by my fellow waiter-scholar Jean Ho).
