Judas Goat (MY FIRST BOOK!) Forthcoming 2023

I, um, have an announcement, and the announcement is that MY VERY FIRST BOOK IS HAPPENING!!!!!! Judas Goat, my debut poetry collection, has sold to Alyssa Ogi of Tin House Books, for publication in early 2023, and I feel like the luckiest person in the world?!

There were so many days I feared this book would never actually happen. Seeing this in Publishers Marketplace is incredibly surreal:

If you want to be informed when Judas Goat is available to pre-order, fill out the little pop-up on my website, or shoot me a note via my contact form? It's never too early to get on a list to be considered for an early copy too, so if you know you might want to write a review or feature the book in some way when it comes out, let me know that, and I'll see what I can do when the time comes <3 I’ve been working on this treacherous, haunted poetry collection for almost a decade, and I can’t wait for it to be an object in your hands. I want to make sure it finds the readers for whom it might be meaningful.

(Also, if you’re the kind of person who likes to plan things way ahead, and you want to bring me to your favorite bookstore / university / rooftop hot tub / sculpture garden / sheep farm / abandoned church / Italian villa / ossuary / candle-making studio / etc to give a reading or something in 2023, it's never too early to let me know that as well!)

It takes a village to make a book deal, and in my case, it’s taken many villages. Thank you to everyone who has given these poems feedback, encouragement, commiseration, and inspiration for almost ten years. Judas Goat is—luckily, rapturously—entangled, and I look forward to thanking as many of you as I can by name in the acknowledgements page. (Eek! I get to write an acknowledgement page!).

But for now: We celebrate, yeah? Pour something delicious, buy some flowers, kiss a friend, for me :)
