Teaching a Crash Course on Literary Journal Submitting & Publishing at Open Books!

Hi, everyone (particularly those of you who live in Seattle):

This February, I'm leading a four-part course at Open Books: A Poem Emporium on the topic of submitting and publishing poems! I'm really excited to share what I know about the wide and dizzyingly varied landscape of literary journal publishing and—hopefully—alleviate some of the anxiety that swirls around putting work out into the world.

Here's some language from the course description: "Together, we’ll walk through the typical submission process from start to finish, gaining familiarity with the Submittable interface, Duotrope, and reading periods. We’ll discuss best practices, common errors, and strategies for staying organized, as well as which journals and presses might be a good fit for particular aesthetics."

If you're interested, or know someone who might be, please share the word quickly! Spots are filling up fast, and we've capped it at 15 to guarantee a degree of personalization and round-table comfort.

You can read more about the course at the Open Books website or reserve your spot now by going directly to the Open Books online sales page.
